I recall the Brisas Del Mar was around $155 per nite (which includes taxes, etc.), which I got thru Expedia. It is on Castillo Street, which is a few blocks (parallel to) State Street.
I’m looking forward to my next trip to Santa Barbara!

Wow you have some really great information here! Was the hotel you stayed at one of the ones by lower State Street? My husband and I traveled car-less to Santa Barbara once, and we stayed at The Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com) on Upper State. While it was a longer ride to the downtown restaurants and bars, I did enjoy being off the tourist track. However, where you stayed sounds lovely and we will definitely check it out next time. What’s the pricing like? We are travelers on a budget so we always like to scope out the best deals even if it means a bit more walking

we appreciated all the great ideas that the workshop participants provided us. Mary and I now have a long “to do” list that will help us continue to get the word out that there are lots of places to go by bus. We hope that folks will also send us their write-ups of their leisure bus adventures.
